Atomik 3.1 Released
Easypress Technologies has released an updated version of its Atomik software, the leading software for automated QuarkXPress-to-XML conversion. Atomik 3.1 boasts new functionality to both enhance the value of the extracted XML content from QuarkXPress and further increase user productivity.
New features include the ability to export additional attributes for any text element including font and style sheet usage, paragraph language and character formatting. For image elements, the XML can now include the image colour model and image box height and width in QuarkXPress.
The new Refresh DTD feature enables users to make changes to their source DTD and have Atomik automatically associate the existing mapping rules with the elements in the new DTD. Previously this would have required a new ruleset to be created. This feature, developed as a direct result of user feedback, will significantly reduce the time administrators spend in ongoing configuration of Atomik.
A fully functional demonstration version of Atomik 3.1 is available for download. Why not try out Atomik today and see how it will transform the value and reusability of your content.
=================================== Full List of new features
Refresh DTD You no longer have to create a new ruleset each time your DTD changes. Simply use the refresh DTD option on the DTD tab in the Ruleset window and follow the on-screen instructions (see section 7.7 in the Atomik User Manual).
Group Framed Items New option on the Ruleset preferences tab. When enabled, any item within the bounds of a box (both text and image) to which a frame is applied, will be treated as if they were a group.
Additional text element attributes New attributes can be automatically extracted in the XML including character formatting (bold, italic, underline etc.), font name, font size, paragraph and character style sheet names, paragraph language ID, paragraph language, absolute page number and more.
Change to Image element declaration The image DTD in Atomik is no longer fixed and can include as many or as few attributes as you require (see section 10.4 in the Atomik User Manual)
Additional Image element attributes Including image filename only, colour model and image height and width.
Enhanced table support Atomik now supports multiple tables in a single text box
No Other Style The "no other style" checkbox in the Atomik ruleset allows for changes in character style to be identified, even when their surrounding paragraph style has not changed (see section 7.3 in the Atomik User Manual).
