Quark announces availability of new QuarkXPress 7 XML solution from Easypress Technologies
Quark to distribute Atomik XML Publisher
LONDON - September 28, 2006 - Quark today announced the availability of a new QuarkXPress 7 Extensible Markup Language (XML) solution that includes Atomik XML Publisher by Easypress Technologies. This new offering is part of an exclusive global agreement with Easypress Technologies to make its new QuarkXPress 7 entry-level XML solution available through its distribution and reseller channels. With its Atomik range of products, Easypress has been the leading provider of XML solutions for QuarkXPress for several years, and this agreement represents a major milestone in Quark’s commitment to provide the best-of-class technology to its customers.
Atomik XML Publisher is powerful XTensions software that combines the rich design environment of QuarkXPress 7 with the dynamic world of XML content. This out-of-the-box solution requires minimal configuration, and designers with limited knowledge of XML can import and export XML content quickly and easily. Atomik XML Publisher will be shipped initially in Europe for both QuarkXPress International English version and QuarkXPress Passport — with multiple-language support for International English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.
James Macfarlane, Easypress Technologies founder and CTO, said, “In an agreement with Quark, we have produced an entry level XML product, which includes many of the best features found in our existing Atomik technology. Easypress has ported its Atomik XML technology to work exclusively with QuarkXPress 7 for both Mac OS X and Windows XP clients — in the case of Mac OS X, working as a Universal Binary application. Never before has Easypress Technologies bundled both XML import and export technology together for its clients in a single product at such an accessible price. This truly brings powerful XML capabilities to the masses.”
Matthew Wallis, senior vice president for sales and marketing for Quark Europe and Asia Pacific, said, “Easypress Technologies has a long–standing reputation for providing leading-edge XML products for our QuarkXPress users. As part of Quark’s approach to the market, we are seeking companies with best-of-class technology, such as Easypress Technologies, and are working closely with them to bring customers the level of technology they need to succeed.”
