Easypress Technologies Announces the Launch of its new online EasyEPUB Service for creating digital eBooks.
Easypress Technologies announces the launch today of its new EasyEPUB service for automatically creating digital EPUB eBooks from both Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress
New York – May 11th 2009 – Easypress Technologies, today is announcing the launch of their new EasyEPUB service for the creation of digital eBooks from Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress files in the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) EPUB XML standard. This break-through in the publishing of eBooks to the internationally recognised IDPF EPUB standard represents a major step forward for Book Publishers struggling with producing eBooks to the approved EPUB standard for book readers such as the Sony Book Reader, Stanza reader for the iPhone and Kindle Book Reader.
EasyEPUB is a SaaS (Software as a Service) product allowing existing book publishers to either take a monthly subscription for all their eBook requirements or simply pay per book. EasyEPUB is also available as a licensed application as a further additional module to our very successful Atomik Dynamic Publisher product. EasyEPUB utilises the Atomik® Quantum Publisher technology supporting the IDPF EPUB standard and opens a new chapter for Easypress Technologies’ who’s core XML technology has, since 2000, lead the way in the repurposing of Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress content into XML supported online and publishing formats. Easypress has been developing and selling its Atomik XML technology to more than 500 global publishing clients. The Atomik XML technology allows its users to automatically extract XML from Adobe InDesign documents at the “press of a button”. EasyEPUB using the Atomik® Quantum Publisher now combines this technology with the IDPF standard for eBook EPUB production into a single platform for the first time, enabling automatic eBook for both small and large publishers either by the book or as part of their overall book production process. “We believe that the explosive growth in the digital eBook market will be the biggest evolution in the Book Publishing world in a generation” says James Macfarlane the CEO of Easypress Technologies, “the rapid appearance of book reading technology from Sony, Amazon and Apple via the Stanza reader will in time transform the way we educate, read for pleasure and take our written books and news”. Macfarlane went on to say “By joining the IDPF Easypress Technologies is committing itself to being in the vanguard of the coming eBook revolution. Easypress for sometime has through its unique Atomik technology been able to extract book content in Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress typesetting formats to eBook XML standards such as EPUB, DocBook5 and PAM-Normal. However we have recently used the introduction of our new Atomik® Quantum Publisher allows Easypress to fully integrate the IDPF EPUB formats to automatically produce EPUB standardised eBook for the leading book reading devices – the launch of EasyEPUB will allow us to bring online on-demand eBook EPUB creation to book publishers both large and small at the press of a button”.
