Export:
QuarkXPress 7 table support With Atomik XML Publisher you can export tables created with QuarkXPress’ table tool as XML, as well as legacy (tabbed) tables using HTML or CALS table model. Exports image data Images in the QuarkXPress document can be referenced in the XML including the image name, path, type, scale, size and colour space. Box ordering control Users can specify the order in which Atomik XML Publisher extracts the content from the QuarkXPress document and even group content together using options for grouped, framed and inline items. Support for paragraph and character-level styling Atomik XML Publisher can identify content using styling information at both a paragraph and character level, although you can still use XML Publisher even if your documents do not use style sheets. Control what is exported and the granularity User configurable setup specifies what content to export and the level of granularity required. You can even set up a filter to only export content that is styled with QuarkXPress style sheet names that contain specified text strings e.g. headline, body text and author. Optional inclusion of formatting in XML A range of QuarkXPress’ formatting information can also be included within the extracted XML. This includes font face, font size, style sheet, bold, italics and even entire style sheet definitions. Support for all common output encodings Atomik XML Publisher allows you to export XML in the encoding which is required by your content management system, website or database (including UTF-8, UTF-16, ISO-8851 and US ASCII).
Import:
Automatic population of multiple QuarkXPress pages with XML content When creating or editing a QuarkXPress document, simply import the XML and then either drag and drop individual pieces of content onto the page or automatically flow content into the entire document using PlaceHolders. The content will take the appearance of the layout box it flows into in QuarkXPress, or it can be styled automatically as it flows onto the page. Graphics that are referenced in the XML can also be imported directly onto the page. Compatible with all XML document types XML Publisher requires no additional scripting or XML transformations. Pre-pend and post-pend text Automatically add symbols and QuarkXPress special characters such as New Box, Hard Return and Tab characters to the beginning or end of each XML element that is imported onto the page. Hierarchical rules Your design is no longer constrained by the structure of the imported XML. Because the rules in Roundtrip rule-sets can now specify any node in the XML hierarchy you no longer need to perform any XSL transformations to allow your XML to be used in print. Automatic numbering Adds Microsoft Word style bullets and numbering functionality to QuarkXPress.
Note that XML Publisher is limited to allow Import of a maximum of two XML files and a maximum of 500 nodes per file.
