Proskynima (προσκύνημα): A Greek word that primarily translates to English as pilgrimage, but also has wider connotations in a Greek Orthodox context. Proskynima can refer more broadly to the act of veneration, worship, or the set of devotions performed when visiting a holy site, such as entering a church. It is often used in literature to portray spiritual journeys of self-exploration.
